Supported files

The chat backend accepts PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP images, plus a configured set of text and source-code formats. The current chat upload flow allows up to four files per message and limits their combined size to 5 MB.

The upload control and backend validation are authoritative. A file type not accepted by the current deployment cannot be attached to that message.

How attachments are used

Text file content and supported image data are included with the chat request so the model can use them as context. Provider support for image input varies by model.

If an upload fails

Check the file type and combined size, then try again. If the file is valid but still fails, the current provider or service may not support the request.
